Summit to Summit AwardThe Summitsbase - Summit to Summit Award ![]() Award Details1. The Summitsbase "Summit to Summit Award” is available to all licensed radio amateurs.2. Currently, all contacts must be made between summits as listed in the Summits-On-The-Air (SOTA) programme and following their rules. Retrospective contacts are allowed providing that the Summits concerned were valid at the time of those contacts. 3. The organizers intend to include non-SOTA summits (for those who wish to use them) into the Award Scheme at a later date. These summits will shown in Summitsbase on the Summits page under ‘Other Summits’ and will have a reference number. The starting date for inclusion of these Summits into the scheme will be announced in due course. Award rules:Every Summit to Summit contact must be unique, i.e. a contact from Summit A to Summit B counts only once, regardless of band, mode, year etc but a contact from Summit B to Summit A is a different contact and does count.Available categories:The categories of Award will be :-(a) ‘SOTA Summits” in which contacts are between SOTA summits. (b) “Summits” (which will include both SOTA and non-SOTA qualifying summits) when introduced – see point 3 above. Awards will be numbered and will show the Award category and class (there is a different Award for each class). Awards can be endorsed for a particular band and/or mode by request at the time of application. If an endorsement is being requested, all the contacts for the particular Class of Award being applied for must be for the same band and/or mode. Classes:Class 3 Award: 25 unique Summit–Summit contactsClass 2 Award: 50 unique Summit-Summit contacts Class 1 Award: 100 unique Summit-Summit contacts Intermediate Award: 250 unique Summit-Summit contacts Advanced Award: 500 unique Summit-Summit contacts Master Award: 750 unique Summit-Summit contacts Supreme Award: 1000 unique Summit-Summit contacts Award HoldersAn up to date list of Summit to Summit Award holders will be published here.Award request:Applications should show all the relevant information as shown in the example below (where Callsign A is the applicant) and it must be in date/time order. The following example is for SOTA Summit-Summit contacts. Summit references for non-SOTA qualifying summits will be available on the Summitsbase website when they are introduced.Please note - When sending in a further 'claim' please DO NOT include any contacts from any of your previous claims. The application is preferred as an Excel 2003 or earlier/Open Office Spreadsheet but other common formats are acceptable. Please state the category (e.g. “SOTA Summits” or, when introduced, “Summits”) and class (e.g. Class 1, Advanced etc) that you are applying for (and if required, endorsement for which band and/or mode).
